Major repair of the bridge crossing over the Irpin River on the M-06 “Kyiv – Chop” national road section in Kyiv Region

Engineering Corp. / Project
About the project

Major repair of the bridge crossing over the Irpin River at km 21+140 of the M-06 Kyiv – Chop public road of national importance (towards Budapest via Lviv, Mukachevo and Uzhhorod), Kyiv Region.

Engineering Corp. participated in the restoration of the destroyed bridge in Stoianka in 2022 as the project’s consulting engineer. The task was to find solutions that would make it possible to restore full traffic towards Kyiv in the shortest possible time.

Under normal conditions, the implementation of such a project would have taken at least one year for design and around two years for construction.

After considering several bridge reconstruction options, the specialists selected the optimal solution in terms of time requirements and material availability. In less than two months, traffic was restored via a temporary bridge on the left carriageway using newly built structures.

In November 2022, full traffic was launched on the right side, and in September 2023, traffic was opened on the left carriageway.

Due to the fact that construction was carried out simultaneously with the design process under the supervision of engineering consulting specialists, the project was fully completed in just 21 months.

The project team included a certified consulting engineer with relevant experience, technical supervision specialists as part of the consulting engineer’s team, cost estimators who worked at an accelerated pace and with a clear understanding of the project specifics, as well as the Engineering Corp. project office.
